The Stop

The Stop is a non-profit that “strives to increase access to healthy food in a manner that maintains dignity, builds health and community, and challenges inequality”. The Stop has three primary locations and two community gardens, which offer a variety of programs. Emergency drop-in food services are available to everyone and provide food to families for at least three days.

Location #1: Community Centre

Address: 1884 Davenport Road

Food Bank Hours: Mon: 10 am-2 pm, Fri: 10 am-2 pm

Drop-in Meals Hours: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 9 am-10 am (breakfast),12 pm-1 pm (lunch)

Good Food Market Hours: Tues: 12 pm-3 pm

Services offered:

  • Food hampers & perinatal support for expecting women
  • Community kitchens
  • Wholesale produce, baked goods, frozen foods, soups sold at food market

Location #2: Wychwood Open Door

Address: 729 St Clair Avenue West

Drop-in Meal Hours:

Wed: 9 am-10 am (breakfast)

Wed: 12 pm-1 pm (lunch)

Thurs: 4 pm-5 pm (dinner)

Location #3: Green Barn

Address: 601 Christie Street, Barn 4

Hours: Sat 8 am-1 pm
